Hollesley

The three villages lie towards the southern tip of the Sandlings peninsula in east Suffolk. Visit by car (B1083 from Woodbridge, then follow signs to Hollesley) or bus from Woodbridge, or cycle via Felixstowe ferry (in summer.)

Hollesley, Boyton and Shingle Street are close to each other, but each small community is distinctly different in character and atmosphere. They have evolved in a working landscape that is fringed by the North Sea and tracts of inland heathland. All lie within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Duck Corner and Oak Hill are the twin population centres of Hollesley. At Boyton, this much smaller village wanders along its main road, whilst at Shingle Street a sea of stones gives the hamlet its name.
Produced entirely by local residents and funded by local advertisers, the magazine reflects the independent views and comment of the village and won the 2006 award for the best publication in its class in Suffolk. It is distributed free in Hollesley, Boyton and Shingle Street.
